| Abstract: | O transporte escolar é um componente essencial para garantir o acesso à educação, especialmente em contextos de desigualdade socioespacial e mobilidade urbana restrita. No município de Belo Horizonte, os desafios desse transporte se manifestam tanto pela complexidade da malha urbana quanto pela escassez de estudos dedicados ao tema em áreas urbanas. Este artigo analisa os principais obstáculos enfrentados pelo transporte escolar em Belo Horizonte, dialogando com autores que exploram o tema em zonas rurais e urbanas, e destacando benefícios, limitações e investimentos realizados. A pesquisa se fundamenta em revisão bibliográfica e análise documental de relatórios oficiais, legislação municipal e estudos acadêmicos recentes. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de políticas públicas integradas, investimentos contínuos e maior atenção à gestão e à equidade no acesso ao serviço, evidenciando lacunas na produção científica sobre o transporte escolar em áreas urbanas. |
| metadata.dc.description.abstracten: | School transportation is an essential component for ensuring access to education, especially in contexts of socio-spatial inequality and restricted urban mobility. In the municipality of Belo Horizonte, the challenges of this transportation manifest themselves both in the complexity of the urban network and in the scarcity of studies dedicated to the topic in urban areas. This article analyzes the main obstacles faced by school transportation in Belo Horizonte, engaging with authors who explore the topic in rural and urban areas, and highlighting benefits, limitations, and investments made. The research is based on a literature review and document analysis of official reports, municipal legislation, and recent academic studies. The results point to the need for integrated public policies, continuous investments, and greater attention to management and equity in access to the service, highlighting gaps in scientific production on school transportation in urban areas. |
