Abstract: Este estudo compreendeu uma pesquisa etnobotânica de plantas medicinais utilizadas por especialistas (grandes conhecedores) residentes no bairro Saramenha de Cima, em Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. Foram entrevistados 10 adultos, 7 mulheres e 3 homens, selecionados pela técnica snowball (bola de neve), utilizando-se entrevistas semiestruturadas, listas livres e turnês-guiadas. As plantas citadas foram coletadas, herborizadas, identificadas e depositadas no Herbário Professor José Badini (OUPR), da Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. As entrevistas incluíram informações sociodemográficas dos entrevistados, assim como sobre as plantas medicinais utilizadas (nome popular, hábito, habitat, partes usadas, forma de uso e preparo e indicações terapêuticas). As plantas foram categorizadas de acordo com classe de doença para a qual foi citada, utilizando-se a Classificação Internacional Estatística de Doenças e Problemas de Saúde Relatados (CID-10). Comparou-se o número de espécies citadas em cada hábito, habitat, partes usadas e categoria de doença indicada utilizando-se testes não paramétricos (Qui-quadrado e Teste G de Williams). O saber sobre as plantas medicinais concentrou-se em pessoas idosas e em mulheres, com baixa escolaridade. Identificou-se 50 espécies medicinais, pertencentes à 27 famílias botânicas. A família com maior número de espécies foi Lamiaceae. A maior parte das espécies citadas são subarbustos, sendo plantas cultivadas ou ruderais. As folhas foram as partes mais usadas das plantas e a infusão foi o modo de preparo mais prevalente. Foram identificadas plantas medicinais utilizadas para 14 categorias de doenças, dentre as 21 categorias da CID-10. As doenças do aparelho digestivo figuram como a categoria com maior número de espécies citadas. Os resultados expressam a rica tradição do uso medicinal das plantas por parte da população do bairro. A concentração do saber em pessoas idosas sinaliza a necessidade de trabalhos educativos para valorizar e manter essa prática tradicional, garantindo o sucesso da implantação do uso de fitoterápicos no Sistema Único de Saúde de Ouro Preto.
metadata.dc.description.abstracten: This study consist in an ethnobotanical study of medicinal plants used by specialists (experts) residing in the Saramenha de Cima neighborhood, in the municipality of Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. A total of 10 adults, (7 women and 3 men), selected by the snowball technique,were interviewed, by using semi-structured interviews, free lists and guided tours. The plants were collected, herborized, identified and deposited in Herbarium Professor José Badini (OUPR), at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. The collected data included socioeconomic information of the interviewees, as well as about the medicinal plants used (popular name, habit, habitat, used parts, how to use and preparare and therapeutic indications). The plants were categorized according to the class of disease for which it was cited, using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Health Problems Reported (ICD-10). The number of species cited in each habit habitat, used parts, preparation method and indicated disease category was compared by using non-parametric tests (Chi-square and Williams test G). The knowledge about medicinal plants was concentrated in elderly people and women with low education level. It was identified 50 medicinal species belonging to 27 botanical families. The family with the highest number of species was Lamiaceae. Most of the plants mentioned are sub-shrubs andare cultivated or ruderal plants. The leaves were the most used parts of the plants and the infusion was the most prevalent method of preparation. There were identified medicinal plants for 14 disease categories, among the 21 ICD-10 ones. Diseases of the digestive system was the category with the greatest number of species cited. The results express the rich tradition of the medicinal use of plants by the population of this neighborhood. The traditional knowledge is concentrated in elderly people indicates the need for educational work to valorize and maintain this traditional practice, and also suggestion the successful implantation of phytotherapy in the Ouro Preto Unified Government Health System.
